Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II has congratulated the crew of ISS on Orthodox Christmas
Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II has congratulated the crew of the International Space Station (ISS) on Orthodox Christmas. “I had a 15-minute conversation with the cosmonauts, who are on mission on the circumterrestrial orbit. The cosmonauts asked Orthodox believers to pray for the successful accomplishment of their mission,” Alexy II said after the Great Christmas Vespers. The patriarch always speaks to ISS crews on Orthodox Christmas and Easter. Russia‘s Mikhail Tyurin and U.S. Michael Lopez-Alegria make up the 14th ISS crew. They have decorated a Christmas tree. “I cherish the Christmas holiday, and I will certainly celebrate it again this year,” Tyurin told the New Year press conference.
