A Boeing-747 belonging to the Transaero Airlines, which had broken down at the airport of the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Hurghada last Saturday, flied back to Moscow after the repairs in Egypt. “This is a technical flight. The jetliner is carrying only crewmembers and specialists, who arrived for the repairs from Moscow,” a Transaero source told Itar-Tass. According to the source, a team of repairmen flied to Hurghada with necessary equipment aboard a Boeing, which flied to the Egyptian resort to bring back Russian tourists, who had stuck for 14 hours at the local airport. “The repairs was successful, the jetliner also passed necessary pre-flight tests, after that it took off and headed for the Moscow airport Domodedovo,” the source emphasized. About 500 passengers, who had to stay in Hurghada, have already arrived in Moscow. Transaero officials met them at the Moscow airport. The Transaero Airlines will buy air or railway tickets for people from other Russian regions. In case of some delay these passengers will be provided with free accommodation at a Moscow hotel.
