On June 22, the Memory and Mourning Day Moscow's Poklonnaya Hill hosted a concert of war songs
On June 22, the Memory and Mourning Day (the 63rd anniversary if the beginning of the Great Patriotic War) Moscow's Poklonnaya Hill hosted a concert of war songs. War newsreels were shown on a big screen. Veterans, children, students and representatives of Moscow's youth Associations laid wreaths and flowers to the memory obelisk. All in all, several thousands people gathered on the Poklonnaya Hill today. Among them was Moscow Vice Mayor Valery Shantsev. Wreaths were also laid to the monument "Grateful Russia to Policemen Killed in Action" on Trubnaya Square. This ceremony was also timed to coincide with the Memory and Mourning Day. Russian Deputy Interior Minister, Colonel-General Vyacheslav Tikhomirov, other high-ranking officials of the Interior Ministry, veterans, and honorary guards of the detached operative division took part in the ceremony.
