A 35-year-old Cameroonian citizen, who was injured in the brawl in the metro, was hospitalized in Petersburg. The incident occurred on Sunday in the metro train, which was going from the metro station “Ploshchad Muzhestva” to the metro station “Politekhnicheskaya”. “All details of the incident are unclear yet. However, eyewitnesses said the foreigner, a student of the Forest Engineering Academy, could prompt a brawl by his behavior,” a source in the Petersburg main police department told Itar-Tass. The Cameroonian citizen was hospitalized with a hand injury and face bruises. Passengers, who were going with him in the same metro wagon, brought him to hospital. The law enforcement agencies are carrying out a search operation for hooligans involved in the brawl. Only 15 out of 917 crimes against foreigners in Petersburg were recognized acts of extremism in 2006. Nine such crimes have already been solved.
