Two helicopters with doctors and rescuers aboard flied to the Republic of Komi to take part in the search operation for the lost helicopter Mi-8, the information department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told Itar-Tass. “From early morning the search operation for the helicopter Mi-8 resumed. Five crewmembers and one passenger are aboard the helicopter. Two helicopters Mi-8 are involved in the search operation, another one with doctors and rescuers aboard is on standby,” the information department emphasized. Additional teams of rescuers will be dispatched if the helicopter is found. The ministry’s information department said the operative group is working in the settlement of Uktyl, the operational headquarters is deployed in Syktyvkar. The incident occurred on Wednesday. The helicopter’s crew did not get on the line at the scheduled time. Another helicopter was looking for the missed Mi-8, but in vain.
