Russia's Constitutional Court on Thursday said one of the provisions in the law on social insurance fund violates the Fundamental Law, and ordered to lift restrictions on maternity benefits within six months. The provision applied to insured women whose average salary exceeded the limit fixed by the law. The court said in a resolution that the provision of the law in question "limits the sum of maternity benefits "out of proportion." The Federal Assembly is to amend the effective legislation within six months. At present, the maternity benefit is capped at 16,125 roubles.
