Russia's Consulate General in Antalya said a Russian national was among several tourists injured in an explosion at a Turkish hotel Thursday
Russia's Consulate General in Antalya said a Russian national was among several tourists injured in an explosion at a Turkish hotel Thursday, which killed a hotel employee. A consulate spokesperson said that according to preliminary reports, a liquefied petroleum gas tank exploded in the early morning at the five-star Kaya hotel in Belek, a resort town near Antalya that is especially popular with holidaymakers from Russia, Germany and Israel. Citing the chief doctor of a local clinic where the survivors had been admitted, the diplomat said the injuries sustained by the Russian tourist, Alexander Lychkov, were not life-threatening. "He was only lightly injured, but he is in a state of psychological shock," the official said. A tourist from Norway was also injured in the blast, along with eight Turks working at the hotel.
