Two militants have been killed by police in a special operation in the Pervomaiskoye settlement of the Khasavyurt district of Dagestan. According to the press service of the Dagestani Interior Ministry, “Sappers are now working at the combat scene in apprehension that one of the killed gunmen is mined.” The special operation was launched at 08:00 a.m., Moscow time, Monday. According to Dagestan law enforces, two militants were blocked in a private house, supposedly members of the so-called bandit group of the Shelkovskoi Jamaat of Chechnya. The two gunmen that were holed up in the house opened fire when police offered them to surrender. An OMON special police force fighter from Togliatti got a medium-severity wound during the shootout. Police found at the shootout site a Kalashnikov assault rifle and two pistols that were used by the militants. The identities of the killed bandits are being ascertained. Criminal proceedings have been instituted over the OMON fighter wounding.
