Over 40 avalanches have gone down on the Trans-Caucasian highway over the day
Over 40 avalanches have gone down on the Trans-Caucasian highway over the day, and six of them have blocked the road in a mountainous area, the North Ossetian Emergency Situations Ministry said. The traffic on the federal highway was banned on Monday due to the avalanche hazard. “There are not only avalanches, but also stone and mudslides. Boulders have fallen down near the Chertov Most,” he said. Fifteen vehicles are cleaning the road.
