The Estonian consulate in Moscow will be closed until its picketing is stopped
The Estonian consulate in Moscow will be closed until its picketing is stopped, a representative of the Estonian diplomatic mission told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. According to diplomats, “the embassy is functioning in a normal regime, although the staff members and the diplomats, accommodated in the building of the embassy, actually do not go out into the street. “There is no freedom of movement for staff members of the embassy,” the diplomats added. Representatives of the Young Guard and Ours youth movements, who have been picketing the Estonian embassy since April 24 in protest against the dismantling of the Monument to the Liberator Soldier in Tallinn, told Itar-Tass that the youth organisations would continue the protest action outside the building of the Estonian embassy, including on the Victory Day (May 9). “The city authorities gave a permission to us to picket the Estonian embassy until May 9 inclusive,” Polina Orekhova, head of the press service of Young Guard, told Itar-Tass.
