I pin hopes for their development on your election as the French president,” the message says. “A close interaction of Russia and France at the United Nations Organization and the UN Security Council is a key priority of the near future. I also hope that France will remain the locomotive of the development and strengthening of the strategic partnership between Russia and the European Union, in particularly, in the light of your country’s chairmanship at the EU in the second half of 2008,” the message runs. “I would like to use this occasion for expressing the feelings of sincere friendship with the French people and wishing you success in your activity for the benefit of France,” the message runs.
