Two students at a construction college in West Siberia kidnapped their 19-year-old classmate for a $38,000 ransom
Two students at a construction college in West Siberia kidnapped their 19-year-old classmate for a $38,000 ransom, but the teenager died from the abductors' brutal treatment, police said Thursday. The police said they had opened an inquiry and detained two suspects at the college. The arrested teenagers said they kidnapped their classmate Wednesday morning after they found out that his family had a large sum of money. The police said that the mother had received an anonymous call late Wednesday, saying her son had been abducted and demanding the ransom for his release. "After the abduction they kept their victim in a garage, beating him. The boy couldn't take the torture and died. Then the kidnappers became frightened and tried to set fire to his body," the police said.
