Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary supervision suspended imports from one Asian and several European companies from Monday
The "sanctions were imposed on a Belgian and Danish meat-processing factories, and on an Icelandic and Korean fish-processing plants," a Rosselkhoznadzor spokesman told Itar-Tass. "A monitoring of the safety of foodstuffs coming to Russia found some 60 tonnes of products harmful for health," Alexei Alexeyenko said. "A laboratory analysis found salmonella in two tons of pork sub-products from Belgium, lysteria in one ton of French poultry, various pathogens in 21 tons of Danish salted pork fat, mercury in 2.4 tons of Korean flying fish caviar, and lysteria in 32 tons of Icelandic capelin," Alexeyenko said.
