Ten people died and four were hospitalised as a result of a last night fire at a home for the aged in the village of Yekaterinovka, Omsk Region. The fire broke out on Thursday after midnight at the top floor of a three-story building of the boarding house, Itar-Tass learnt at the main administration of the civil defence and emergencies in the Omsk Region. There were 317 people at the building at the time of the fire. The village of Yekaterinovka is situated in a pine-tree forest on the right bank of the Irtysh River 300 kilometres away from Omsk. Nearly all the second floor and part of the roof were in flames by the time fire engines and ambulances came to the place of the incident.
