The military court of the Novosibirsk garrison sentenced draftee Ruslan Valkhiyev to 4.5 years in prison
The military court of the Novosibirsk garrison sentenced draftee Ruslan Valkhiyev to 4.5 years in prison. He incited his fellow serviceman to suicide by regular bullying, a source in the court told Itar-Tass on Friday. A junior sergeant fell victim of Valkhiyev, who was drafted from Dagestan. The hazing victim hanged himself in February 2006. The expertise showed the suicide victim has been in the state of emotional stress for a long time due to regular violence and victimization by Valkhiyev, the source pointed out. The court found the defendant guilty of hazing, which entailed grave consequences, battery and extortion. Valkhiyev did not plead guilty.
