Sergei Ivanov will talk about bilateral military alliance with UK
Sergei Ivanov, Russia's Minister of Defense, took a London-bound plane this morning for negotiations with Jeffrey Hoon, the United Kingdom's Secretary of Defense. Tomorrow's agenda will revolve round prospects for bilateral military alliance, Great Britain's Defense Ministry press service said to Novosti. The negotiators will address a joint news conference after the talks. Mr. Ivanov will address the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, Tuesday, on "Russia-NATO: Strategic Partners in Threat Retaliation." Bruce George, parliamentary defense committee head, describes British-Russian relations in the military field as "very good." The two countries share stances on many key international issues, he said in a Novosti interview. The MP hopes he will have a chance to meet the visitor.
