Two unknown persons without documents have been detained in Dagestan
Two unknown persons without documents have been detained in Dagestan at a section of the Genukh frontier outpost on the Russian-Georgian state border by officers of the republican border guard department of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) over the weekend. The department’s press service told Itar-Tass on Tuesday, “During the detention the AK-74 submachine gun and Saiga carbine with cartridges were confiscated from them.” “The detainees said they are residents of the Shilda settlement of the Kvareli district of Georgia and crossed into the Russian territory during hunting,” according to the border department officials. A criminal case has been opened against the detained under the Russian Criminal Code articles “illegal crossing of the state border of the Russian Federation” and “illegal keeping and carrying of weapons and ammunition.” FSB officers are trying to establish the identities of the detained.
