Lebed’s copter pilots imprisoned for safety-measures breach
The Krasnoyarsk regional court sentenced pilots of MI-8 helicopter to several years of imprisonment on Jan. 6. The pilots, Takhir Akmerov and Alexei Kurilovich, are to serve four and three years, respectively, for their roles in the crashing of the helicopter last year, killing eight people, including Alexander Lebed, who was the regional governor at the time of the accident.
