Seventeen newborns from a maternity home in Novosibirsk have been hospitalised with purulent infection
Seventeen newborns from a maternity home in Novosibirsk, western Siberia, have been hospitalised with purulent infection, an official of the Russian consumer rights’ watchdog in the Novosibirsk region said on Friday. “In twelve cases the infection was confirmed, another five cases are preliminary,” the head of Rospotrebnadzor’s anti-epidemiological department, Natalia Shulgina, told Itar-Tass. Doctors say babies’ condition is mild and moderate-to-severe. The maternity house was closed for anti-epidemiological measures and laboratory tests.
