Sberbank's net profit increased 31% to 53.5 billion rubles
Sberbank's net profit, calculated to Russian Accounting Standards, increased 31% to 53.5 billion rubles ($2.1 billion), year-on-year, in the first half of 2007, the country's largest state-owned savings bank said Friday. Pre-tax profit also rose 31%, to 65.6 billion rubles ($2.5 billion). In June, individuals' accounts with the bank exceeded 2 trillion rubles ($88 billion), up 10.7% against January. Legal entities' accounts totaled 1 trillion rubles ($39 billion) in June, up 27.2% since the start of 2007. The bank had 17 regional offices and 819 outlets as of July 1.
