Switzerland's federal court on Thursday "annulled the decision on the early release from prison of Russian citizen Vitaly Kaloyev on August 24"
Switzerland's federal court on Thursday "annulled the decision on the early release from prison of Russian citizen Vitaly Kaloyev on August 24," Konstantin Kaloyev, brother of the convicted man, told Itar-Tass. Konstantin has kept telephone contact with Zurich where his brother is serving a sentence. "The early release was suspended as the court met the prosecutor's appeal, despite the fact that Switzerland practices release of inmates after they have served two-thirds of their sentence with good conduct," Konstantin Kaloyev said. "Vitaly has taken the news about the court's ruling calmly," he said explaining that he had talked with Vitaly immediately after the ruling was announced. "He said he was not hoping to leave the prison on August 24. He's more concerned about this relatives who had been wanting to meet his early; "what do I care?" Vitaly said" in an indication of little regard for himself, according to Konstantin. "We're easily believing people, if we have seriously taken the court intrigue played by the prosecutors and the court. If the Swiss court had been fair, it wouldn't have given minimal terms to the real culprits of the tragedy," he said. Eight Skyguide employees, guilty of the death of 71 people, were sentenced to six to 15 months, whereas Kaloyev was given eight years for the murder committed in affective state. The decision by the federal court in Kaloyev's case was announced at 14:00, Moscow time, a court representative told Itar-Tass. The highest court earlier on Thursday considered and granted the prosecutor's appeal against the decision by the cantonal court in Zurich on the early release of the Russian convicted for the murder of Skyguide traffic controller Peter Nielsen.
