Russia’s civil airlines on Monday introduce new air security rules limiting the amount of liquids that passengers can carry on board planes
Russia’s civil airlines on Monday introduce new air security rules limiting the amount of liquids that passengers can carry on board planes. The new rules forbid passengers from taking liquids, including water, toothpaste, perfume or contact-lens products, in containers larger than 100 ml on board, except if they are held in a sealed plastic bag. New rules do not spread on medicines, baby food and special diet products. Excessive liquids will be confiscated at clearance points. Both international and domestics flights will fall under new rules. The Russian federal air transport agency believes that new rules will cause some difficulties during customs clearance. Rosaviatsia expressed the hope that passenger will understand that this measure is taken to ensure their security. The above-mentioned rules have been in effect in the EU member-states, Iceland, Canada, Norway, the United States and Switzerland since 2006. Moscow’s airports announced their readiness for new rules. Personnel have been trained and necessary plastic bags bought.
