First Candidate for Russian Presdency
Russia's Central Electoral Commission on Thursday registered the first candidate for presidency - Oleg Malyshkin, a 52 -year-old member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR). Malyshkin was elected to the lower house of the Russian parliament at the recent parliamentary elections. Earlier, he had been head of the Tatsinsky district administration of the Rostov region. Malyshkin headed the LDPR central apparatus before he was nominated a presidential candidate, the LDPR press service told Itar-Tass. The presidential elections will be held on March 14.
