The rainstorm with hail raging in the northeast of the Stavropol Territory overnight left about 4,500 people without electricity
The rainstorm with hail raging in the northeast of the Stavropol Territory overnight left about 4,500 people without electricity. The windstorm of up to 30 metres a second with heavy rain and hail caused electricity cutoffs in several villages. The work of 96 transformer substations was halted, the Stavropolenergo company press service in Pyatigorsk told Itar-Tass on Friday. The village of Grigoropolisskaya was hit most severely. Broken trees blocked accesses to electro-transmission lines there. Specialists plan to repair the damaged lines this Friday.
