Ukraine has no state debts for the Russian natural gas
Ukraine has no state debts for the Russian natural gas, and does not owe anything to Gazprom, First Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Nikolai Azarov stated after a government meeting. "We don't owe a single cent," Azarov stated. "The size of debt which it /Gazprom/ is talking about is out of the question," the official said. Azarov said he met with Fuel and Energy Minister Yuri Boiko last week to discuss this issue. A decision was made to hold a conference over Neftegaz Ukrainy's settlements with the budget. Ukraine owes nothing to Gazprom," he said, "I wish to state unequivocally that taking into account the fact that I represent the government today, the state of Ukraine has no debts to Gazprom." The problem with Gazprom is not linked with the political situation in Ukraine, according to Azarov.
