Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the federal law on amendments in Article 1 of the federal law on the days of military glory and commemoration dates in Russia, the presidential press service reported on Thursday. The State Duma approved the law on October 2 and the Federation Council approved it on October 17. The law establishes a new commemoration date – the Day of Memory and Sorrow on the day of the Great Patriotic War beginning on June 22. On this day the Russian peoples commemorate all compatriots, who protected their fatherland at the cost of their lives and fell victims of the wars, primarily the Great Patriotic War
