Mikhail Fradkov believes that partnership between the government and businessmen in transport infrastructure can yield good results
The premier announced this following the session on the development of the North-South international transport corridor in Astrakhan (a big industrial center in the Volga delta). According to Mikhail Fradkov, the state should allocate money to solve transport problems, however, business has greater possibilities. It is necessary to expand the capacity of Olya port in the Astrakhan region, solve shipbuilding problems, increase cargo turnover and attract investments in the near future, the Prime Minister noted. In his opinion, promotion of federal targeted investment programs can help solve many problems. The means allocated for these programs will be increased and spent on priority projects, in particular, in transport sphere, he added. The government is currently bringing order to budget sphere "under the absence of income growth" and seeking resources to solve vital problems, the premier continued. Speaking about the government's tariff policy, Mikhail Fradkov said that it should be "a complex solution to accompany the development of transport infrastructure".
