The first annual Summer Institute of Russian Culture for foreigners will open in Moscow
The first annual Summer Institute of Russian Culture (aka LIRK) for foreigners will open in Moscow on August 2 in the premises of the State Investment Academy, chairwoman of the LIRK-2004 organizing committee Svetlana Folomeyeva told. "The summer institute is meant for foreigners involved in modern Russian culture studies. It is to form integral scientific notion of modern Russia," she noted. The task of the project is to raise Russia's image in the world. "We expect 15 auditors from the U.S., Canada, Finland, China, Peru, France and Senegal," director general of the applied communications center Maria Buras reported. According to her, the two-week LIRK program includes lectures, practical classes, excursions and master-classes. They will be conducted by leading Russian experts. LIRK-2004 will also focus on Russian media. The modern Russian culture course costs $400.
