From August 13 to 15 Monino (Moscow region) will host the Flying Legends air show
Its program includes demonstration flights of the unique WWII warplanes given by European and Russian collectors, said Vladimir Ber, deputy chairman of the air show's organizing committee. "Aces will give air performances with elements of solo and group aerobatics and show staged air fights," Mr. Ber said. An international exposition "World War II Aces" will be open in Monino during the festival. It opens unknown pages of the war history. Russian, British, German and U.S. museums granted showpieces and materials for the exposition. An airfield of the Red Army with legendary warplanes Il-2, Tu-2, Po-2, La-7, Yak-11, I-16 and Air Cobra and WWII vehicles will be presented in Monino. According to Vladimir Ber, the following foreign planes will be shown: Harvard Super Six, Stampe Sv.4, T-6 Texan, Mitchell B-25, Boeing Stearman, Trojan T-28 and Junkers 87. Since 2004 the Monino airfield becomes the central venue of the professional Air Force holiday and the State Air Force Day.
