The 7th Russian art festival will be held in Cannes from August 24 to 28
According to Tatiana Shumova, Vice President of the Russian culture foundation, the festival's organizer, the event will open with the so-called Russian Night. Its program includes Russian-French fireworks show, performances of folk and Gypsy ensembles, a fashion show and presentation of traditional Russian dishes. Drummers from Surgut (Siberia) and the Baltic Fleet's orchestra will perform in Cannes, as well. Russian movies, winners of Russian and international film festivals, will be presented in Cannes. Among them are Andrei Proshkin's Spartacus and Kalashnikov, Vera Storozheva's The Sky, the Plane, the Girl, Alexei Uchitel's The Stroll and Valery Todorovsky's Lover. Igor Moiseyev's academic dance ensemble will present Russian folk dances and the academic classic ballet theatre will perform two Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballets, "The Nutcracker" and "The Sleeping Beauty", which is prepared especially for the festival. Moreover, the festival's program includes presentations of culture Russian regions, for instance, Tula. Works by local craftsmen will be exhibited in Cannes.
