Italian police have arrested 20 foreign nationals on charges of international
Italian police have arrested 20 foreign nationals on charges of international terrorism, Italy's ANSA news agency said Tuesday.

The suspects are accused of forming Jihadist cells and recruiting suicide bombers for attacks planned in Afghanistan and Iraq.

During a widespread antiterrorism operation carried out in the northern regions of Lombardy, Liguria, and Emilia Romagna, police discovered remote-control electronic detonators and poisons.

The suspects are also accused of forging identity documents, illegal human trafficking and hiding people wanted on terrorism charges.

Similar raids are also under way in France, Britain, and Portugal.
