Gazprom offers Belarus to do without alternative gas suppliers in 2005
The concern is ready to supply 19.1 billion cubic metres of its gas to Belarus in 2005 at a price of $46.68 for a thousand cubic metres and in this way to meet the republic's requirements in the "blue fuel". Belarus proposes its variant - to continue purchasing gas from Gazprom and independent suppliers. Currently, "negotiations on concluding a contract with Belarus for gas deliveries in 2005 continue," said a Gazprom representative. In 2004, gas deliveries to Belarus will make up 18.5 billion cubic metres, in particular 10.2 billion cubic metres of gas from Gazprom, and 8.3 billion cubic metres have been already supplied by independent suppliers - ITERA, Trans Nafta and Sibur, the Gazprom's subsidiary. In 2003, the correlation of gas deliveries to the republic was at the same level. RIA Novosti was told in Beltransgaz that discussion continues on the deliveries of Russian gas to Belarus.
