The most important stage of assembling a concert organ, the installation of the largest metal pipes, will take place in the Svetlanov Hall of the Moscow International House of Music
A spokesman for the house said that the pipes are ten meters long, four meters longer than the pipes of a similar organ in the Grand Hall of the conservatory. The organ in the Svetlanov Hall is the largest in Russia in terms of the number of registers (84) and it was made by German organ companies Kleis and Glatter-Goetz. The new organ has a set of pipes of different bass registers that can play an octave lower than basses in a symphony orchestra. In the opinion of experts, these registers will make it possible for the organ play more deeply, especially in combination with a symphony orchestra or choir. Once assembled, the organ will be the largest in Russia. It is 14 meters tall, 10 meters wide and weighs 30 metric tons. Presently, the country's largest organ is in the Moscow Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and it has 81 registers.
