A plane has crashed in central Turkey killing all 56 people on board, the head of the airline Tuncay Doganer told Turkish television on Friday.

The Atlas Jetair MD-83 aircraft, with 49 passengers and seven crew members, was on a domestic flight from Istanbul en route to the town of Isparta.

According to media the plane disappeared from radar screens a short time before landing around 1:30 a.m. local time (23:30 p.m. GMT Thursday).
