Lokomotiv Moscow play Panathinakos on Wednesday evening knowing that anything
Lokomotiv Moscow play Panathinakos on Wednesday evening knowing that anything but victory in the Greek capital will mean the end of their UEFA Cup campaign.

Lokomotiv have endured a dismal season, the 2002 and 2004 Russian champions finishing seventh in the league, their worst performance since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

The club also fired their manager, former director of sports at Scottish club Hearts, Anatoly Byshovets, earlier this month.

The Moscow club are without a win in Group B, having drawn 3-3 at home to Atletico Madrid, 1-1 away to Scottish side Aberdeen, and then losing 1-0 in Moscow to Copenhagen last week.

Panathinakos have already qualified for the next round, and may rest some key players.

The game is Lokomotiv's last of 2007.
