The agreement establishing the interstate financial-industrial group Almaz-Antei for air-defence regulation within the Commonwealth of Independent States is being finalised, Colonel Gennadi Surkov, secretary of the CIS air-defence coordinating council, told RIA Novosti on Thursday. "The Almaz-Antei agreement will regulate military-technical interaction in the repair and supply of air-defence systems within the framework of the united system of the Commonwealth", Colonel Surkov said. The project discussion is on the agenda of the regular sitting of the CIS Council of Ministers due in Moscow on November 25, he said. The project report will be made by General of the Army Vladimir Mikhailov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force. He is the chairman of the constitutional air-defence committee under the CIS Council of Ministers. The united CIS air-defence system is now made up of 31 antiaircraft missile units, 17 fighter aviation squadrons and units, 23 radio troops units, three separate radioelectronic warfare battalions, two research and educational institutions, RIA Novosti learnt from the press service of the Air Force. Russia does joint combat duty together with Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine.
