Bank of Russia forecasts net capital inflow to Russia in September for the first time in the recent months
In September net capital inflow to Russia may total $0.5-1 billion, First Vice President of the Bank Alexei Ulyukayev told journalists on Thursday. By the end of 2004 net capital outflow from Russia will amount to $12 billion, he said. "This forecast is realistic," Mr. Ulyukayev noted. According to his data, in the first half of 2004 net capital outflow from Russia totaled $7.5-7.6 billion. Net capital outflow from Russia totaled $24.8 billion in 2000, $15 billion in 2001, $8.8 billion in 2002 and a mere $2.1 billion in 2003. Meanwhile, in the third quarter of 2003 net capital inflow to Russia amounted to $3.9 billion.
