Mikhail Fradkov sees the development of the transport infrastructure as the common of interest of both the state and business
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov sees the development of the transport infrastructure as the common of interest of both the state and business. To quote: "Development of the transport infrastructure is an important, comprehensive question. It is where the interests of the state and business meet and mechanisms for private-public partnership can be formed", the prime minister told the Competitiveness and Enterprise Council at a sitting. "The transport infrastructure is where our specific advantages exist with account for the distances and interests of each and everybody", he added. "The president pays a close attention to this direction. In his address to the Federal Assembly he outlined the priority importance of developing this structure", the premier said. He noted that at the current get-together the council is to consider the efficiency of state-business partnership in developing the transport infrastructure, the involvement of business in developing the system of transport. Specifically, corresponding legislation and the provision of guarantees to investors should be on the agenda, he said. Here, "it is important to hear the voice, signals from business. Sources of financing for large projects should also be determined", Fradkov said. Businessmen should be made partners of the state in meeting the common goals, "the required combination of interests" should be found, the prime minister insisted.
