A military helicopter crashed on Tuesday in northern Greece, killing
A military helicopter crashed on Tuesday in northern Greece, killing all three people onboard, the Hellenic National Defense General Staff said.

The UH-1 Huey helicopter took off from an air base in the northern prefecture of Imathia at 08:10 GMT and went off radar screens approximately half an hour later. The crash site was later discovered some 20 km (12 miles) away from the port city of Thessaloniki.

The cause of the accident has yet to be established. No malfunctions were reported during the flight.

U.S.-made Huey helicopters are famous for their use in the Vietnam War, and the bulk of them were produced in 60-s.

Another Huey helicopter crash killed four Greek military officers in 2006.
