Russian wholesale power-generating company OGK-5 said on Tuesday its net profit
Russian wholesale power-generating company OGK-5 said on Tuesday its net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) increased 216%, year on year, in 2007 to 1.804 billion rubles ($75 million).

Revenues grew 22.6% in the reporting period to 33.46 billion rubles ($1.4 billion), gross profit climbed 177% to 2.54 billion rubles ($106 million) and operating profit was up 300% to 2.073 billion rubles ($86 million), OGK-5 said.

OGK-5 includes four thermal power plants with a total capacity of about 8,700 megawatts, and is one of the most valuable assets spun off from Russian electricity monopoly Unified Energy System, which previously held a 50% stake in the company.

Italy's electricity giant Enel SpA holds a 59.8% stake in the power generator.
