A 61 year-old Russian in the Kemerovo Region in southwest Siberia
A 61 year-old Russian in the Kemerovo Region in southwest Siberia killed his two-year-old granddaughter after a heavy drinking session left him suffering from hallucinations, prosecutors said Wednesday.

The man was asked to look after the child by her father, when his wife came home from work, she found her granddaughter dead in the bathroom. The man, who was drunk, said he thought his granddaughter was a doll who was 'bullying' him.

"He later admitted that he had watched a horror movie about dolls that kill people, and thought that his life was in danger," the spokesperson said, adding the man struck the two-year-old several times on the head before strangling her.

Psychiatric tests revealed that the Russian was suffering from the 'horrors' due to his severe drunken state and is unable to stand trial for the death. He will be admitted to a psychiatric hospital instead.
