Russia's largest beer producer Baltika Breweries granted a license to Uzbekistan's
Russia's largest beer producer Baltika Breweries granted a license to Uzbekistan's Sarbast Plus for the right to produce and sell its beer in the Central Asian country, the company's president said on Friday.

Uzbekistan will be the third country, besides Ukraine and Great Britain, where Baltika beer will be produced under license. Production is due to start this fall.

"We also plan that our products will be exported to neighboring countries," Anton Artemyev said.

Last week Baltika Breweries also bought Azerbaijan's Baku Castel brewery, a subsidiary of France's Castel.

Baltika has 11 breweries across Russia and the company employs 12,000 people. Baltic Beverages Holding (BBH) controls 85.6% of its authorized capital. The Baltika beer brand is marketed in 38 countries.
