Igor Yusufov has discussed with the American ambassador in Moscow energy cooperation
The Russian president's special representative for international energy cooperation Igor Yusufov has discussed with the American ambassador in Moscow, Alexander Vershbow, an outlook for increasing shipments of Russian fuels to the American market. The communique of the Press and Information Board of the Russian Foreign Ministry says that in thorough discussion, at the meeting on Wednesday, were "different aspects of the perspective for a substantial increase in the shipments of Russian energy carriers to the American market, including the development of new fields and technologies, the export infrastructure and the possibility of making American firms involved in the realisation of the said projects". "In this connection, the American side underlined the importance, for potential investors, of the presence of transparent and firm 'rules of the game' on the Russian market", the Russian Foreign Ministry said. It also noted that "the adoption in Russia of a new Law on Mineral Resources will promote its investment image". Also in discussion were concrete investment projects in the energy field, which are being carried out, or planned, with the involvement of the leading American oil and gas companies. "The importance of unfolding in Russia capacities and the infrastructure for the emergence of liquefied natural gas on the American market has been specially stressed", the ministry said.
