Russia's gas exports in January-September 2004 increased by 12.3%
Russia's gas exports in January-September 2004 increased by 12.3% against the same period in 2003 and amounted to 115 billion cubic meters, a Gazexport press release reads. Gazexport is a 100% subsidiary of Gazprom. In this period gas exports to countries that are not former Soviet republics was 111.4 billion cubic meters as compared to 101.53 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2003. Western Europe received 78.54 billion cubic meters of gas against 67.91 billion cubic meters in the same period last year. Eastern Europe received 31.86 billion cubic meters of gas against 33.61 billion cubic meters, the press release says. Former Soviet republics received 4.63 cubic meters of gas, which was 5.4 times more than in January-September 2003.
