A fire swept through a retirement home in Argentina's capital, Buenos
A fire swept through a retirement home in Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires, killing at least seven residents and injuring nine others, local media reported.

The single-storey retirement home in central Buenos Aires caught fire on Wednesday soon before midnight. A total of 18 people aged over 80 were inside the building at the time of the fire.

The injured have been hospitalized with burns and carbon monoxide poisoning. Medics said that their state of health is critical.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
