The roof of Moscow's exposition center Manege has been restored and painted green
The roof of Moscow's exposition center Manege, which burnt down in spring 2004, has been restored and painted green. Moreover, builders have glassed the windows. Currently they are trimming up the walls of the building and casing the façade's cornice with red brick. Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov ordered to restore the Manege roof and glass the windows this fall to prevent the walls and foundation of the building from the wet. The company involved in the building's restoration plans to complete its work by March 25, 2005. According to the Moscow authorities, the restored Manege will be opened in the first quarter of 2005. The exposition area will be increased twice. The exposition center burnt to the ground on March 14, 2004. It took several hours to extinguish the fire and two firefighters were killed. The roof with the total area of 9,000 sq m collapsed and most showcases were ruined
