Boris Yefimov, a Soviet political cartoonist noted for his caricatures
Boris Yefimov, a Soviet political cartoonist noted for his caricatures of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany, died on Wednesday at the age of 108, the Ekho Moskvy radio station said.

Yefimov (born Fridlyand) was born on September, 28, 1900 in Kiev. He moved to Moscow in the early 1920s after his brother, who was working as an editor for Pravda, offered him a job drawing political cartoons.

He received Soviet State Prizes in 1950 and 1951. He was also named People's Painter of the Soviet Union in 1967.

In 2007, on his 107th birthday, Yefimov was appointed chief artist of the Izvestia newspaper. He continued to draw and work on his memoirs up until his death.
