Two U.S. citizens who went missing in Lebanon have been detained
Two U.S. citizens who went missing in Lebanon have been detained in Syria for illegally entering the country, the Lebanese LBC TV channel reported Thursday.

The U.S. Embassy in Damascus said it had not received any information about its missing citizens from the Syrian authorities.

The U.S. Embassy in Lebanon confirmed Wednesday that two Americans working for the Jordan Times newspaper had gone missing in Lebanon.

Taylor Luck and Holli Chmela arrived in Lebanon on September 29 from Jordan and checked in to a Beirut hotel. They have not been heard from since October 1.

Friends of the pair said they planned to visit Byblos and Tripoli in Lebanon's north, then head to Syria before returning to Jordan.
