An unidentified assailant fired a grenade
An unidentified assailant fired a grenade at the home of the chief doctor of a hospital in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia overnight, but nobody was injured, the local interior ministry said on Friday.

"The incident occurred at about 3:15 a.m. (23:15 GMT)," the ministry said. "An unknown attacker fired a grenade from a grenade launcher at the home of Abdul Mazhid Albakov, chief doctor of the central hospital in the Sunzha district."

"The explosion caused a fire, which has now been extinguished," the ministry said, adding that the house was severely damaged.

The house has been cordoned off, and police are working at the scene.

Ingushetia, which borders Chechnya, suffers frequent militant attacks and has high crime rates.
