Panic broke out among passengers on a plane about
Panic broke out among passengers on a plane about to take off from an East Siberian city on Saturday morning, after a man who had mistaken anti-freeze for smoke raised the fire alarm.

Terrified passengers rushed to the plane exits, opening the doors to escape the imagined blaze, the press service of Krasnodar airport said. The crew then called the airport rescue services.

The man began shouting "fire" after he looked out of the window, and saw vapor coming off the plane. In line with normal procedures, the aircraft had been sprayed by antifreeze.

The plane, which would have flown to Moscow, was carrying around 200 people.

"All the passengers were evacuated, and are now in the terminal," the spokesman said.

The plane is scheduled fly to Moscow at 8 p.m. (13:00 GMT).
